I found out a new marketing term: pinko marketing. What a strange term. The big idea is that we are coming back to the roots of commerce which is communication. The contact and the building of trust between community members are back at the core of commerce.
This is a short description on what Pinko Marketing is:
“…because there is no “consumer” anymore. We are in the age of peer to peer power over all other forms of messaging. Producer to producer. There are no passive parties in this new world. No longer is word of mouth merely a powerful tool, it is quickly becoming the only trusted source of information. The internet, mobile and other advanced forms of communication are allowing communities to form and gain power more quickly than ever.”
“Pinko, although quite controversial, is a term that seems to have caught people’s imaginations. I am open to changing it, but only if we find something that is as striking. I know that the history is varied…that it is a bit controversial. What it really means (hisotrically anyway) is “slightly left of center”, although I don’t want to polarize people on this issue. I’m hoping to use a discussion to totally divorce the word from the politics.”
